The French Code Noir and the Spanish laws did not make it easy for a slave to gain freedom, but it was certainly easier for one to become free on these islands than those owned by the British. The British made it almost impossible for the slaves to gain freedom. In the Spanish and the French colonies, slaves were given a few legal privileges. The courts on these islands permitted slaves to own personal property, make contracts, and buy their freedom with their meager savings. These laws did not exist in the British colonies. My preschool observation took place at the Central Child Development Center, 414 E. Black Street, Rock Hill, South Carolina. The Child Development Center is operated by York County District Three within Rock Hill Schools. There are many different classes that serve students ranging from general education to special education. During my observation time, I was assigned to two general education classrooms: Margret Joiner’s classroom (with assistant Ginger Adams) and Diane Alexander’s classroom (with assistant LaSalle Foster). For the first half of my visit, I was with Mrs. Joyner’s class. On the day I did my observation, I counted 15 children, with a pretty equal number of boys to girls. Helping Today's Youth In today's society, a troubled teenager or mischievous adolescent is labeled a juvenile delinquent. Yet the current definition of a juvenile is based solely upon, most of the times, on stereotypes. A delinquent may be a troublesome teenager with complicated problems at home, school, or with friends. He may have extreme physical and/or emotional needs, or he may just be a child who committed a simple mistake. ?Was he unlucky to get caught doing something foolish? Did he run away from home because of family troubles or to demonstrate independence? What kind of help does he need and exactly how much (Erickson 126-127). At this point, a probation officer helps in making decisions that have an important and beneficial impact on the lives of those called ?delinquents? (Erickson 7). Probation can be defined in two different ways: as an organization or a process. As an organization, probation is ?a service agency designed to assist the court and execute certain services in the administration of criminal justice.? As a process, probation is ?an investigation for the court and the supervision of persons in the community? (Carter and Wilkins 77). Analysts have accused the company for focusing too much on their high end acquisitions and diversification inspite of the risky effect of such decisions -Another potential weakness is that the operating profit is based on low wages paid to the general workforce for duties such as baggage handlers, cleaners, and caterers. These migrant workers face instant deportation if they show resentment to the wage structure. 5.3 Opportunity -A huge opportunity for growth is the physical location of the Emirates. Creating and maintaining a state of the art airline for the sole purpose of keeping their customers happy. -Extensive aviation training. The company not only trains young employees but also trains other people within the industry. -Has successfully created a resort, hotel and tourism strategy. This was done by the creation and acquisition of various resorts and spas, even in this field emphasis was given on quality control and comfort. -Emirates Airline have always strived to make their passengers satisfied, winning awards for the innovative in-flight entertainment system, immaculately dressed cabin crew.
